MINI MAC • Painting on Mini Silk Kerchief with Virginia LaMont Naegeli

Let's learn a little about color theory using silk paints on silk.

Personalize your design with a stencil of a letter or initial. Your completed piece is suitable for framing.

Skill Level: All. This class is for adults.

Recording: We are not recording this workshop.

Requirements: This is a virtual workshop. Students should have the following:

  • Computer or other internet-connected device with a built-in camera.

  • Zoom conferencing software and familiarity with the platform. In order to access the workshop on Zoom, you will first need to download the free Zoom app (called Zoom Client for Meetings) on your tablet or computer, if you don't already have it. Call Instructor Virginia Lamont Naegeli, at Art Yourself Studio, in Franklin, Michigan, to order the supplies. Her phone number is 248-918-1376. Pick up your order @ Art Yourself Studio, OR request mail order for an extra charge. Mail orders must be received by Feb 15, 2021.

The instructor's kit includes the following for $15 (USD):

  • five mini bottles of silk paint

  • two silk covered boards

  • paint brush

  • palette

  • instruction sheet

Arrangements for kits are between the instructor and the student. 

Special Instructions: 

Please prepare a letter (or initial) stencil in advance for your 8x11 silk board. Also have a watercolor pencil to trace your letter onto silk, and watercolor or mixed media paper on hand for color theory lesson.

Virginia has a teaching degree in art, specializing in painting. She owns a studio, Art Yourself, in Franklin, Michigan, where she teaches a variety of art classes that result in beautiful one-of-a-kind art.
