join us for our May General Meeting

Our meeting will begin with the Election of Officers, followed by an exciting program with the artist Barbara Close, who will be joining us from her studio in California.

From Barbara:

“I've loved the thought of being among the trees for a very long time. I enjoy the trunks — twisted, chunky, textured, smooth. And, oh the branches — the branches are what made me think of doing this class. I love following the branches' calligraphic-like lines, bending and turning every which way from thick to thin.

I often incorporate some image designs when I teach my workshops & that includes some tree shapes. I love this because lines in the trees are never straight. They are always showing a moving line, bending and twisting.”

Barb has taught calligraphy around the world and now, to the world, virtually. Please join us to hear more about her interest in trees and calligraphy and more.
